Be Led or You Could Be Dead

In light of the events that are happening in Iraq, I feel that I need to share something. I hope and pray that people will see God's wisdom in this article.

Years ago I was traveling through the mountains with a friend of mine. All the sudden I saw in the spirit a giant man standing in the middle of the road with a gun. The Holy Spirit immediately told me to turn around and go back. He said that I have not anointed you to deal with this. This is a great lesson if you will take this to heart.

In the book of Acts the disciples waited in the upper room until they were endued with power. Then they were sent out. They went out at God's command filled with His power. How often is this the way that we go out? We have a desire to serve God and win souls. That is commendable. The problem we all seem to have is with patience. Can we wait till we are endued with power and sent by the Holy Spirit, or do we just go out in the flesh out of our own desires? The Word tells us that they which are in the flesh cannot please him. It also says that in the flesh dwells no good thing. Oh it may appear a good thing but unless it is ordained and anointed by the Holy Spirit we can be setting self up for a major fall. We so often get an idea of what "we" want to do for God. God is not wanting us to do by our flesh. He is wanting us to draw near to him and learn to listen to His directions so that when He does send us out it is in power and we are protected.

Pr 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

It may seem right. It may look right. Yet unless the Holy Spirit initiates it, it is our flesh and can get us into trouble.

If there was ever a time that the church needed to draw near to God it is now. Well meaning ideas born out of our flesh are not going to work. We must be empowered by the Holy Spirit if we are going to go up against the devil and win. So many think that because they are a Christian that they can do anything and that whatever they come up with that God will back it up and bless them. God does give us grace at times because of our stupidity but that belief is not scriptural. Instead of asking God to bless our idea and totally leave out the Holy Spirit, we need to draw near to the Holy Spirit and get His leading and power. One is religion and the other comes out of a relationship. One is flesh and the other is intimacy with the Holy Spirit. It is so easy to just do by the flesh as there is not much effort needed. You don't have to surrender your will and ways to the Lord. You don't have to be patient and wait to hear. I firmly believe that God is wanting a people that are more concerned about hearing from Him and doing only his will. They have become like Jesus and decided to do His will alone.

I am sure some people will balk at this but read the Word. It is there.
