Are you one of those who love to go places to "gist" or "gossip"? Do you know that you can put your time into a better use?
There was a woman in bible days who went to draw water from a well. She met a Man who was wearied sitting on the well. Both discussed about drawing water and He promised to give her "Living waters" to drink so that she will not thirst again. She became elated and desired it.
At that point, the Man raised the issue of her marital status which amazed her. He told her,
"you're right! You don't have a husband- for you have had five husbands, and you aren't married to the man you're living with now. You certainly spoke the truth."
Already, this woman had an expectation: "I know that the Messiah is coming - the one who is called Christ. When he comes, he will explain everything to us." verse 25.
It was on that day her expectation came true; the Man, Jesus Christ, with whom she had discussions declared:
"I am the Messiah!" verse 26.
At that point, the woman from Samaria left her water jar beside the well and ran into the city telling everybody
"Come and see a man who told me everything I ever did! Could he possibly be the Messiah?" verse 29.
What was the result of her publicity?
"So the people came streaming from the city to see Him." verse 30.
Do you draw people to their Creator with your words? Do you still engage in idle talk? Do you discuss with people to bring others down? Stop every discussion that does not profit you, fellows you discuss with as well as those subjects of discussion.
Involve yourself only in those issues that benefit others and which can give them positive results. The woman's hearers finally declared,
"Now we believe, not just because of what you told us, but because we have heard him ourselves.
We know that he is indeed the Savior of the world." verse 42
Please as from now, let your words draw and attach others to the Lord, their Savior. Then will you become a witness reconciling people around you to their God.

Scriptures quoted are from New Living Translation, second edition. John 4.
