My Sailing Mate

I travel life in a boat
That goes through all kinds of weather-
Sometimes the seas are calm and still-
Sometimes I’m tossed like a feather.

When the sailing is real smooth
And the skies are blue and clear,
I travel life in my boat
Without worry – without fear.

But when the sailing becomes rough
And sinking is my fate,
I ask for help from my Friend
Who is my Sailing Mate.

He never fails to see me through
The storms that come my way-
He gives me calm until again
I have a sunny day.

The Sailing Mate that I have
Is a Friend that’s true-
The Sailing Mate that I have
Is Captain of life’s crew.

I pray that as you sail through life
You have on board your deck
The Captain that will calm your seas
And keep you from shipwreck.
