Your Life Isn't What You Think!
Have you ever felt like someone was picking on you? Do you feel you have one bad break after another? We all feel this way at times and yet some feel it more than others. It seems that some are luckier or is this only as it seems?
Step away for a moment and see your life from a higher perspective. You have been challenged because you have something very important to accomplish but as long as you remain in the belief that you are unfortunately being persecuted, you will never see what God sees and what God has planned just for you.
Remember the stories you have read of people who have risen out of very difficult circumstances and have inspired all of us to do the same. Do you think that they had it easy? Their stories inspire us because they had courage to believe that they were more than what they appeared to be.
As we live our lives, daily, we see a very small part of the picture, the bigger picture of why we are here and who we really are. If you could see what God's purpose is for your life, you would be in awe! If you could see how God sees you, the special creation He purposely and carefully created, when creating you as an individual and who is able to bring God's Unconditional Love through you, you would be amazed! You would not doubt God and His love for you any longer. But instead you feel hopeless, doomed to a life without reason. You must begin to choose how to see yourself.
The eagle flies high above the earth and the rocks that trip us up aren't even visible. The words of an inconsiderate individual have no substance. The things that keep us stuck are not even seen from a higher view of our lives. The deep crevice we fall into has a way out, that isn't visible to our eyes. We can't see the green pasture that is only a reach away, and holds a garden plentiful of food waiting for us, if only we believed. We don't understand how close we are to living a life empowered because we choose how to see ourselves.
In our journey we remain stuck on the path that is never meant to stop us because we allow many things we encounter to become more powerful than God ever intended. Such as a broken relationship in our teens that sets us on a path to prove to others it was meant to be, only to see many years down the road, it was never good for us in the first place.
We waste years trying to look like we were right in a choice that was never meant for us to take. Why? It's because as the ego rules this planet, we loose precious time on paths that keep us wandering in the wilderness. We never find the path God intended, and we remain stuck, believing that bad things happen to us because we are no good. We can't find the faith we need because we don't believe we are good and meant for great things.
If we only could see that the journey is not for the swift, the quick, and the winners but is for the wise that long for what they can become as a result of the experiences. Our lives, one foot in front of the other, are meant for great things but this greatness that can be in alignment with God is only achieved when we understand that the journey's potholes are only temporary. We are meant to fly but not until we believe in our purpose will we ever move out of the things that we defined as bad.
I bring to your attention a man in the Bible who felt the sting of life over and over again and yet he didn't deserve this kind of treatment. Joseph in the Old Testament was a man often mistreated and yet rose above difficult circumstances. He overcame enormous obstacles by committing himself to a goal beyond what is ever written, and with enormous determination.
In reading Joseph's life many times, I continue to find something new. It is hard to not be moved each time he rises out of adversity or suffering, with an even greater oneness to God Almighty. Joseph proves to us that when bad things keep happening for no apparent reason one cannot afford to feel like the victim. If Joseph had felt like he deserved these things that kept happening, he would have remained in the pit his brothers threw him into and we would have never seen the bigger picture, planned by God, for his life.
To be a true overcomer one must look beyond the earthbound struggles of the circumstances and remember that no one can define you. As long as you think you deserve something you never learn how to see beyond the circumstances. If you can't see above and beyond the earthbound struggles you are going through, then you cannot raise your understanding of life and see why things happen.
The journey of our lives take us many places and with each place we go we learn more about ourselves, as it is intended we do. The stops along the way are temporary detours where we may choose to reflect and grow but never stay for too long. Knowing we are destined for more than hard times, keeps us looking ahead. The struggles, the potholes, the negative voices, all help us learn about ourselves.
We learn how to make better decisions as well as not letting other people's struggles become our own. We learn to pray for them but not allow them to take us down. We learn compassion by allowing God to help those we cannot help. We forgive, remembering we too have made mistakes, while freeing ourselves from carrying a weight never meant for us to carry.
Joseph chose over and over to deliberately move past unfair offenses, to overcome enormous obstacles, and model an example of forgiveness. It is often said to err is human but to forgive is divine, and this is what connects us to our higher self and our Creator.
