Eph 5:28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies; he who loves his wife loves himself.
29 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church.

Every Christian husband and wife are like little Adams and little Eves. God took a part from Adam's body and made it into a woman that Adam had to say of Eve "This is bone of my bones and the flesh of my flesh."

When Adam touched Eve, he was literally touching his own body. Eve was literally Adam's body made into another person comparable to him. I can almost hear God say to Adam: "Adam, you are not all there. I took something out of you and made a woman out of it. Here she is, Eve."

Now, because this is so, every single Christian husband should love their wives as their own bodies. She is his own flesh.
Loving, nourishing and cherishing her is loving, nourishing and cherishing his own body.
