PREVIOUSLY IN THE MYSTERIOUS CITIES OF GOLD REVISITED...

Ben and Stephanie used their bracelets to open the doors to a building in the city of gold in the Andes. The inhabitants of the city of gold accused the group of intruding and attempting to rob the cities and threw the group in prison.

AND NOW..

Five hours had passed since the group was locked up. Matthew sighed. "How long are they going to keep us locked in here? They said they were trying to decide what to do with us and that they would let us out when they decided, but does it really take this long to decide? Not that I want anything done to us--I just hate being in here! At least if we were out we could secretly escape!"

"Maybe they don't want to be hasty because they haven't found anything missing, which is, of course, because we never intended to steal anything," Ben remarked. "Maybe once they find out Lionel was telling the truth when he said we didn't intend to steal, they'll let us go."

"I can't believe we thought we could just use our bracelets like that!" Stephanie cried. "I mean, of course people were going to be suspicious with us the way we did it without even asking."

A few more hours passed, and it was early evening. Still no one came to let them out."What if we never get out of here?" Elizabeth asked, scared.

"Don't worry, kids, everything will be just fine," Lionel tried to assure them, although he and Alexis were worried themselves.

Just then lightning flashed in the sky, followed by a large rumble of thunder. Shortly after heavy rain began to fall! The water soon got higher and higher. This was no ordinary thunderstorm--this was a flash flood!

Stephanie grabbed onto Ben, and he put his arms around her. "We're all going to drown!" Stephanie cried.

"Calm down, honey," Alexis told her, trying not to show her fear. "Maybe we could dig ourselves out of here. Maybe there's something in here."

The group looked around and found chipped pieces of rock that were perfect for digging all over the floor of their cell. "Everyone, start digging!" Alexis cried. "Hurry!"

Everyone in the group dug into the walls of the cell until they made an opening that was big enough for everyone to get out. They got out just before the water got even higher.

"We have to warn the people that the water's rising!" Ben cried. "Let's go!"

The group set off into the city so they could warn the people. As they were walking, the water came up to their waists, but they didn't stop. They went to every single building in the city and warned the people to hurry to the top floors of their homes and the other buildings they were in to get away from the water. Everyone did as they were told, and after a while, the storm stopped. Everybody remained where they were, though, until the ground started drying off.

When everything was dry, the people of the city thanked the group for saving their lives and apologized for getting the wrong idea about them and imprisoning them. They told them they were true friends.

Soon later the group got back into the airplane to go and find the next city of gold.

The group flies off to find the next city of gold. While up in the air, the plane begins to run out of fuel. When they go to refuel the plane, they meet Gertrude, a teenage supermodel from Europe. She informs them that a greedy tycoon named Philippe Lumiere wants to rob the cities of gold. Will Ben and his friends be able to stop Philippe from carrying out his evil plan?
