SOUL STEALERS
Isaiah 48 New King James Version

“Hear this, O house of Jacob,
Who are called by the name of Israel,
And have come forth from the wellsprings of Judah;
Who swear by the name of the LORD,
And make mention of the God of Israel,
But not in truth or in righteousness;

17 Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer,
The Holy One of Israel:
“I am the LORD your God,
Who teaches you to profit,
Who leads you by the way you should go.
18 Oh, that you had heeded My commandments!
Then your peace would have been like a river,
And your righteousness like the waves of the sea.
19 Your descendants also would have been like the sand,
And the offspring of your body like the grains of sand;
His name would not have been cut off
Nor destroyed from before Me.”



… On this day like any other, a man sits looking all forlorn and lonely on a dusty bark in the middle of an obviously deserted street, thick dust everywhere and on everything, houses were mere shadows , torn and broken beyond recognition, trees were uprooted and burnt beyond recognition, cars were blasted into smithereens...

He looked all around him dazed and lost as he stared into the distance very deep in thought... “Oh, What a world”!

“Nothing… no-one, why did I survive? The whole place is deserted, devoid of people, everyone’s dead! Am I all alone?

What do I do now? What next? So many questions … no-one to give me an answer! G-O-D, where is your face!” He springs up suddenly as he lifts up his hands stretching them up to the (ironical) grey skies, dust flies as he stomps on the ground like a child throwing a heavy tantrum.

How did it get to this point? So many years of a destabilized living for all and sundry finally ends with annihilation of everyone and everything!”

“Almighty G-O-D, WHERE ARE YOU? Where were you when ALL of this was happening? Why? Did you allow it and why spare me?”

He heard the voice, soft but quite clear… "You have so many questions but I ask; in your heart, what am I to you"?

He looked around thinking someone was either hiding or it was his mind playing tricks on him like a mirage in a desert! No-one, nothing! The voice spoke again, a whisper this time, a gentle breeze which blew through his ears, wafting through his already thinning hair giving him a very calming and soothing effect. He suddenly realized God Himself had spoken to him… then he replied “You?Of course my Lord!"

“Now I tell you... you ALL have moved far away from my initial PLANS for you for so very long… not my will but your will has prevailed and designed almost everything; the unending tragedies, pain and extreme suffering… everything, I have watched from generation to generation with a heavy heart… you gave room and permission to thieves and wicked robbers to take over and destroy, YOU ALLOWED THE SOUL STEALERS”.
