Lately, there are some words that seem to be entering into my thoughts more than others, and they are: When one door closes, another one will open. I've been thinking of the meaning behind these words, though I can imagine there are multiple possibilities, ways to analyze the power inherent within.

I've heard them spoken many times before; but until recently, I've never looked at them in this light:



Jesus was a carpenter, so I'm sure that building solid, well-made doors was part of his job description. He would work tirelessly in his carpenter's workshop, producing finished product that was in high demand. Of course, this wasn't His full-time job; He had more important things to build, to mold with His strong, loving hands, with a craftmanship that is always full of love, peace, strength, and grace.

Rest assured, the doors He has built in our lives, these doors that are always opening for us, have been constructed with a solid foundation, able to weather any of the curve-balls that life can throw at us, everyday. Yet, sometimes the winds of change blow, closing these doors, leaving us knocking, wondering when someone will let us in.
No need to fear or be anxious, my friends, because Jesus is working overtime, ready to replace those doors, strengthening their foundation, building them on solid ground, and giving you the key to unlock them.
