I sure most of you have heard or read the child's story ' Cinderella.' What a plight our young would be princess found herself caught up in. Tormented by her enemies, rejected by family, mocked, abused, orphaned, hated she had forgotten her true identity. She believed she was worthless. Her misery might well have continued if the king had not sent his son to find a bride. Than there was that glass slipper, the only way for a love struck prince to find his darling bride to be. I can just imagine her blue eyes welling up with tears as the prince of a mighty kingdom knelt down in front of her, picked up her dirty foot and tenderly fitted it into the sparkling slipper. When he found the slipper fit he drew her gently to himself into the safety of his embrace and smiled down at her. Now we all know that it is just a fairy tale and fairy tales are not true. Pity isn't it? Who would not want to feel completely accepted, delighted in and sought after? What I had not realized for the first 28 years of my life was that I was living my own 'fairy tale' but unlike Cinderella mine was true. Rejected, abused, tormented by my enemy Satan, pushed aside, enslaved to sin I had forgotten my true identity. I believed I was worthless. But there was this King that had a Son whose name is Jesus. Here is where my story gets a whole lot better than Cinderella's fairy tale. My Prince seen there was no other way than to give Himself in death and come back to life again. He did it all just so He would be able to find me. I think that beats a sparkling glass slipper. He came to me, and breathed His life into my crying heart, encircled me in His protecting arms, gently drew me into His embrace and smiled down at me. Sometimes 'fairy tales' do come true....
