Chapter Five: Chosen to be blessed.


Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. (Psalm33:12).
We, in the body of Christ, are chosen to be blessed. We are blessed because we acknowledge God and received the Lord Jesus Christ into our hearts. We are blessed not only for ourselves but to be a blessing to others. The blessing is not just in prosperity but in mercy. We are a holy nation and a royal priesthood(First Peter 2:9).

The bible says the blessings of the Lord maketh rich and it addeth no sorrow with it(Proverbs 10:22). One thing the devil does not like is a people who know their God is God.

Jesus Christ is the blessed hope and because we hope in Jesus we are blessed in the Lord. Blessed is the man who walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers
of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither and what so ever he doeth shall prosper(Psalm1:1-3).

When you are blessed of the Lord you will realize that favor is not fair. Since favor is not fair, your fortune is in your favor. The bible says no weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise up against thee in judgement thou shalt condemn(Isaiah 54:17).

Blessed also means holy and consecrated. As a blessed child of God, the devil cannot do with you as he will. You have power over all the works of the enemy in the Lord. You always win in Christ. When man puts you down, God lifts you up. You are more than an over comer. You are a child of the most high God. You are special to God. You have a place prepared in Christ.

There are many saints who don’t know they are blessed, they think they are just saved and that‘s it. We are saved therefore, we are blessed. Blessed coming in, blessed going out. Blessed in the field, bless in the city(Deuteronomy 28). The Lord God almighty has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ: according as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love(Ephesians 1:3-4).

In closing, let us worthy of the blessing that God has bestowed upon us. As a child of God, you have privileges that the world does not have. You can come boldly unto the throne of grace and find help in a time of need(Hebrews 4:16). Amen.
