In The Darkest of Night:

In the darkest of night in the brightness of day; it did not matter I called on God but could not hear Him. I requested His presence but I did not see Him. I asked for His advice but I did not follow it. I was blind. Living in spiritual darkness my whole world faded to a night with no light from the moon or stars. I stumbled down a crooked and wide path that lead to utter depression, hopelessness, evil, and death. I walked where the mountains crumble, the trees fade away, and where the dead find happiness in an empty river of sorrows and pain.

I put God last in my life, I back slid, lost my way, and now I can't go back home to the comfort of His arms. There are no more thoughts in my life about the goodness in this world or my place in it to do any good. I forgot who God is and how much He loves me. I'm lost, blind, and don't have the strength to carry on.

But God has to be real and so does Heaven and hell. I walked there you see and know very well. My days are numbered and this world will soon pass but if I put God first in my life I will find peace at last. Though this world is full of toil and snare. It is God who loves me and will restore my soul. Through the free will that He has given me, I have made up my mind. Lord...I'm speaking to you, I accept you as my God, I accept you as my Savior, I accept you as my very best friend. Open my eyes Lord, that I may turn this present place, into what you created to be full or love and grace.

May the mountains be lifted, may the trees rise again, may my many sins be forgiven, and may you restore my soul. Father through my free will I ask this of thee. Help me to live in this dark world as a beacon of light, love, and hope. In no matter what I do help me to do it for you. Father I ask this of thee on high, save my family and my soul tonight. Father I know what I must do, for it was in the darkest of night I saw the brightness of day.

This is poem is written to whom it may condemn; to the powers that be let it be known that with my God I will once again find my way home. Only this time it will be better than before. For I have an ideal sense of myself and I know that no matter how lost I' am it is God who restores my soul and gives sight to the blind. It is God who resurrects the dead and sets the captive free. Amen.
