SUMMER JOY

Summer night
sharing the white porch swing
we shared all that had been
all that was
all that we dreamed could be

Never say 'if only .....'
you reminded me
For no matter what each day brought
a new sun faithfully rose each morning
A new gift
a new chance
to behold the glory and beauty of all that was in Him
and all that could be

A life well lived
learns to see with the heart
how a simple moment
in worship
becomes divine

As we grasp with welcoming arms all God offers
each new day becomes
a new gift
of faith, hope, and love
in Christ

Hearts sharing
hands holding
swinging on the porch swing;
the night breeze was fragrant with the sweet smell
of a lilac tree
The sky above
deep black
flickered
with distant stars as fireflies

We were quiet
Within moments I sensed it
We both sensed it
We did not speak
We dared not move or interrupt it

A God moment
A moment within time that had no time
A moment we dared not leave
A moment translated into eternity
magnified by His presence
within us
and around us

We were consumed
in the moment
in His overwhelming love, grace
and majesty

Angels descended
rejoicing in our joy
they gently pushed our heavenly swing

All in us
around us
and through us
became a timeless moment
in the essence of Him

Touched deep within
our hearts dove into the beauty
of the moment
and were left longing for more of Him

We learned that day not to
interrupt the silence
of His eternal moments
They are perfect gifts
Of His grace

Psalm 27:4 - One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in his temple.

what a peaceful poem to read. I could almost feel the sway of the swing.
