The Amendment of Meaningless

In myself I have become nothing
My mind endlessly wanders to find no place of rest
No moment of solitude
My body has been emptied of honor
The encumbered loss of identity
Though I fill it with food
I go hungry
Though I pour out my cup into my mouth
I remain thirsty
All I have chased
Everything which I have desired
All once considered of great value that has been gained
Has now become loss
It is meaningless, as is everything else
As am I
All things will end
And what then shall I be able to keep?
What can I be left with now that entirety has not proven folly?
What road will I walk to somewhere?
Which path shall I follow that will not engender my demise?
The saddest day in a man's life is not his end
But the moment he decides there is nothing beyond that end
A book without an author is but blank pages
A story without a theme is only a silent rambling
Identity without a mediator is but an empty temple
A spirit without the living God is dead
The world and all in it without Christ is meaningless
Is nothing
A false perception
Dying never to be renewed
Nothing that stands in time is forever
Something that is not forever is not
Anything without the Son has not
So I shall rejoice in my standing
I am proud of my weakness because it leads me to Christ
I am glad to consider all things loss to the gain of myself
For the sake of His name
I will leave behind all that weighs me
Consider all I once held as worth to be rubbish
And choose to walk down the road of life
Each step continuing to the next
Leading me closer to the truth
To Forever
To my God
To the man Christ Jesus
