Why do I feel this way?
As if you are around me all day
Your day begins when my eyes open
You fall asleep when my eyes close.

Why do I feel this way?
As if you have come with me to stay
The scent of lilies is all around me
I can only inhale though me you can see.

Why do I feel this way?
As if you walk with me on life’s every new stair
A sense of your being in a closeness so rare
We literally touch when our feelings dare.

Why do I feel this way?
As if your breath is so close to mine
A part of my life day in and out
Uniting our moments in a time so strong.

Why do I feel this way?
As if you can feel my grievous pain
The tears I try so hard to hide
Can be plainly seen and wiped by you.

Why do I feel this way?
As if torn inside but restored still
Accepting destiny’s unbridled will
Knowing you stand by me through it all.

Why do I feel this way?
As if my smile is formed by your lips
My prayer gets a divine response
Through every chant of your own.

Why do I feel this way?
As if the food I lift to my mouth
Satisfies your own hunger
Your thirst quenched with water I drink.

Why do I feel this way?
As if you have taken our love
To a much higher level
A supernatural yet realistic means.

Why do I feel this way?
As if my eyes search during the day
Knowing you have the final say
To let me feel your invisible touch.

Why do I feel this way?
As if your hand is firmly on my head
Worded blessings though unsaid
Leaves a trial of graces instead.

Why do I feel this way?
As if I’m safe and secure in your love
A bonus from heaven above
To allow you come this close to me.

Why do I feel this way?
As if there is no distance separating us
Your time and mine rolled into one
Our memories a fate never to be undone.

Why do I feel this way?
As if the emotions in our souls are conjoined
A depth reached in feelings so great
To intensify more in coming dates.

Why do I feel this way?
As if my heart waited for this day
For you to fill this sacred space
Once occupied, forever you will stay.

Why do I feel this way?
As if you send kisses all day
To make me feel loved in more ways
Know this will go on until the end of days.
