Benjamin Franklin said, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”
Abraham Lincoln said, “I will prepare and someday my chance will come.” He also said, “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I will spend the first four sharpening the axe.”
If success is what you seek then preparation is a must because success happens when preparation meets opportunity.
The Bible talks about a man named Jotham; it says concerning him, “So Jotham became mighty because he prepared his ways before the Lord.” Jotham prepared so success naturally followed.
Queen Esther prepared for one year to meet the king and naturally success followed; the king found her a worthy bride and made her his queen.
David prepared for years to fight Goliath (even though he didn’t know it at the time) by fighting the Lions and the bears while he kept his father’s sheep. We all talk about how David killed a giant a sling and five stones but we fail to grasp the point that David had mastery of the sling and stones that mastery was not acquired at the battle front he had trained himself in the use of the sling and stones for years while keeping the sheep little wonder he used them successfully. David was prepared when his opportunity came (to fight Goliath) and success naturally happened.
The Bible talks about ten virgins, five who were wise and five who were unwise, the difference between these two sets is one was prepared to meet with the bridegroom and the other was not and the bible referred to those who were unprepared as foolish. For the wise that were prepared, success naturally followed as they went into the feast with the bridegroom and for the five foolish who were unprepared failure became inevitable as they were unable to attend the feast.
Bottom line, if we are not prepared when opportunity comes we will not have the success we desire and we were born to succeed, so let’s begin even now to prepare. See you at the top.
