There was a time
When time seemed no more
When anguish fell over my cause
Till darkness was all that was left me to breathe in

Isolation was my friend
My solitary companion
And it responded in kind
For the rest of my nature did not admit me
Nor did I recognize my own eyes

My essence betrayed me
My own reflection was lost to me
I was without a name

My identity was not mine to give
So take with it with force I did
And restless and anxious I certainly became

Swaying back and fro
Through the mirrors of my soul
Never catching a glimpse of actuality
Or of all I ached to be

Lost yet betrothed
Try but steady fail
Still learn I did not
For Wisdom was not yet mine to avail

Who can ever know thyself
If character lacks its mane
Because knowledge will only be given
Never can it be gained

For the certainty that we seek
The fullness that we so desperately need
Has been pleasured to dwell only in Him
And the Word is given the seed

As Truth can be no other than absolute
For love is without condition
And within Him is the only thing
That can grant you absolution
