I hear Esther saying, "I know the law, but I know my husband better. Even though I am in fear for my life either by Haman's hand or breaking the law, still, I know my husband loves me and would not want to see me harmed in any way. My husband knows my heart and knows that I would not do anything to usurp his kingship. I also know my husband's heart for the people of his kingdom. When Mordecai, as my elder, instructed me that I had to be the one to bring this message to my husband, I was afraid. But then I realized that my God was with me and if I had to die, then I would go home to be with my Lord. What else could I do?"

Fear of rejection is the main reason we don't tell others about Jesus. Jesus is so hated that we fear being hated more than we fear God. But, Jesus said that we would be hated, too, because He was hated. There are some people in our lives whose hearts we know who are for or against Jesus. We must get past fear and tell the ones whose hearts are soft about Jesus, so that they may, in their own witness, get through to the hearts of those whose hearts are hard. There have been times when I wished I had kept my mouth shut because, when I did say something about Jesus, I was met with ridicule and disregard. Then there have been times when I wished I had opened my mouth when the Spirit led me to. How many people still don't know Jesus because I didn't say anything? I must learn to approach people as Esther did: With a heart for salvation in the lives of unbelievers, no matter what the cost. Jesus has already paid the price. How can I do any less?
