Would that I could touch a star
within reach of celestial happenings
no darkness would fall upon my face
and I would dare not shed bitter
these darkly lonesome tears

Would that I could touch the moon
surely no evil would touch me
for the light would shatter the pain
my heart would no longer long
for a light to shine at my soul

Would that I could fly in the universe
among the planet Venus of love
reach out and touch another soul
find peace within at being exposed
my truth for all of mankind to see

Would that I could fly with wings
soar through the heavens and find
my truer self than I can see
somewhere, up there, I am
happy, joyous, and free
