for a day of bliss and warm sunshine,
loathsome dreary days bring me to tears,
while the light of God releases my fears.
What is this that troubles my inner child so?
She asks for something I cannot know,
ever reaching for the farthest unknown,
over the rainbow where desires are grown.
Day after day she searches the sky,
for answers to her questions of why,
the world is colored so black and white,
pastels are what she dreams of at night.
I try to console her with gentle kindness,
still her soul sees the answer with blindness,
she needs something to soothe her pain.
