Testify in the Lord, stop being a Gentile,
Of the vanity in your mind that will defile;
Your understanding darkens as to alienate,
You from God with ignorance to eliminate;
As your heart becomes blind to the reality,
Of lust and the greed defeats your purity;
From Jesus Christ you have not learned,
And total salvation you have not earned;
When still corrupted with a deceitful lust,
As spirit not renewed to be the humblest.
The Lord is the way, the truth and the life,
Empowered every day to rid you of strife;
With the grass as greener on the other side,
It makes it difficult for the Lord to abide;
No one ever said that life would be easy,
Although it is tempting to be fat and lazy;
Just stay the path the straight and narrow,
Remembering with God a better tomorrow;
Your job on earth is far from being done,
For with God the work has merely begun.
