Dear Lord (the child):

Forgive me my countless transgressions
That may have blocked a multitude of my blessings
I've been bound by life's situations
Conflicted and confused by expected intimidations
I need to be moved from this low position
I need help with this most trying transition
My feet are embedded in spoiled ground
Can't reach my release; You are nowhere to be found
Because You don't dwell in such a dark place
But I can't find the light; I can't see your face
I'm looking, searching; I don't see you, Lord
The height of the darkness seems to have soared
I'm calling, I'm screaming, but you don't hear me
Surely because I drown in my own iniquity


My Child (the lord):

I ask that foolish talk to cease
I am Lord, your God; I can give you peace
Stop dwelling in the darkness and seek harder the light
Then you will see my face if you seek with all your might
You're calling, screaming; know in your heart I do hear you
But so condemned by your sins, you don't believe this to be true
Humble yourself and confess your sins
I'll wash you in the blood of the lamb and you will be cleansed
I will anoint your head with oil and give you the anointing power
That is what you need and what you're calling for in this hour
Just bow down to me meek in prayer
I will ease all your conflict and relinquish your despair
