Too long have I had my dwelling among those who hate peace.

I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war!

Just say it, Lord.

Say the words to heal this rift and

Stop this struggle.

The sound of your voice

Will heal these wounds,

Will give the freedom

We think we have but lack.

Give us faith to be whole.

Too long, we have listened to velvet lies,

Caught up in the imaginary world of our own righteousness.

Forgive us, O Lord.

Heal us from the foolishness of thinking

We are our own gods

With no need for your saving grace.

We long for the healing honey of your voice.

Give us knowledge to know not just our faith

But the object of our faith.

May you, the object of our faith and worship,

Be our desire.

Your word makes our arrogance disappear.

Heal us from what we consider just anger

To you for ignorance.

Shine your wisdom to

Enlighten prisons of darkness

We have built.

Have mercy on us.

We want to live in the belief of your ability.
