Some people think big others think small. In both cases, there would be a problem if the thought patterns are guided by a syndrome.

At one time, I used to think big. I guess I had a 'think-big'syndrome.

The Big Man
It was a wonderful idea to be a big man both in stature and in status, or if you like, in size and in position. People with big bodies display an intimidating image. When they speak, people listen. If you are small in stature, people don’t seem to take you serious. You have to be twice or even thrice as good as the big bodied to match the latter.

A big House
Could I think myself a big house until I would live in what is enough to be a school for a house? When and where should we put the limit?

A Big Car
There are things that we do because of public expectation, others we do because of personal cravings. Could one think of having a big car until he settles for a bus to be his personal car?

A Big Computer
I didn’t grow up with computers. It was until I was over 30 years that I came into contact with computers. I had wanted to buy a computer before I knew much about them. I walked into a shop. On display were what I called at the time “big computers” and “small computers." I later learnt that the big computers were called “desktops” and the small ones, “laptops”

I got amused at the prices. The big computers cost less, the small computers cost more. For me, this was an irreconcilable paradox. I asked the seller if there were people ‘beside their mind’ enough to buy an expensive small computer and not a big computer which was even costing less. He told me that as a matter of fact, they had more ‘beside-their-mind’ customers than they do their counterparts.

When and Where Does it Matter?
Mobile phone, for example, how big or small should it be?
There are things better small; there are things better big and there are things that the size is not what is definitive.
But remember that big things start small. I encourage you to think small at the beginning, only let your thoughts grow. If you let your thoughts grow under your watch, you will be able to manage the size of your fully-grown thoughts.
