Today, the lyrics of Josh Groban¡¯s Thankful are coming to mind.
Some days we forget to look around us
Some days we can¡¯t see the joy that surrounds us
So caught up inside ourselves we take what we should give¡­
I¡¯m wondering how so true these words are. And I¡¯m seeing myself as one of the guilty ones. There are many times when we are caught up in our busy activities that we forget to appreciate those little things that we ought to be thankful for. Sometimes we are carried away by those little disappointments that we forget that every day is a miracle.
We take for granted those things that subtly mean a great deal. Can¡¯t we see that it¡¯s a miracle to be able to smile at your family members and watch them smile back in love? Or don¡¯t we realize that it is God¡¯s goodness that we can spend time with the ones we love? Can we not see the joy that comes by hanging out with our close friends?
Every day when we sigh and hope for a miracle, what are we looking for? A sign in the sky saying ¡°you are loved¡± or the smile of that loved one that assures you all will be alright?
Every moment is a moment of Joy and I wish that we can begin to see all this and give instead of take. Let¡¯s begin to appreciate every moment of our life and be thankful for every good thing.
Let¡¯s see the joy that surrounds and be Thankful.
