A Change For Life
Job said it best in Job 20:4-5 knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon the earth, that the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the way of the hypocrite but for a moment? We are a people in the earth that must change our ways. There is a way which seem right to man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. We can no longer roam in this earth as people that are destitute of wisdom.
We are a people that live here in the earth as if there is no God. We act like there is no after once we leave this earth out of these earthly bodies. We love pleasure more than we love our Creator. We live riotous lives and boast of tomorrow when we know not what tomorrow holds. Proverbs 27:7 the full soul loatheth an honeycomb; but to the hungry soul every bitter thing is sweet. All things are full of labor, man cannot utter it; the eye is not satisfied with seeing, nor the ear filled with hearing. We live in the earth and see many things that increase vanity.
Ecclesiastes 10:19 a feast is made for laughter and wine maketh merry; but money answereth all things. We run after money in the earth to the tone of getting it through evil means. Yes we need money and it us used as a means of exchange but to love it is evil. We are to walk in the ways of our heart and in the sight of God all the days of our lives from our youth up. We are to take away sorrow from our hearts and put away evil from our flesh. A change must come in our lives!
Isaiah 32:9-10 rise up, ye women that are at ease, hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech. Many days and years shall ye be troubles, ye careless women for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come. What are we looking for? Even the women have changed the natural use of their bodies. Women are forsaking to bring forth fruit from their bodies that a new life comes forth. What are we doing? We can no longer be at ease while the world goes to hell. Our feasts are being turned into mourning and our songs into lamentations. We have sown much and bring in little. We have been robbed of our security in this world as God have ordained. We need a change for life.
We have loved the praise of men more than the praise of God (John 12:43). We have conformed to this world rather than transform our lives where God is glorified. We need to renew our minds that we may prove what things are good and acceptable to the perfect will of God. We need to set our affections the things of God and not this world. We live in a time where men are lovers of themselves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, and unholy. We live in a time when men and women are without natural affection; desiring each other in a way God did not ordain. Man breaks even their own promises to themselves, are false accusers, incontinent, fierce and despisers of things that are good.
In this time men are traitors, heady high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God. Many have a form of godliness but really deny the power of God. There are false men and women that don’t really know God but portray Him as theirs. We are to turn away from them. Many have crept in God’s house and lead many away captive in their own plots to get riches. These people are ever learning of the wrong way and never really come to the knowledge of the Truth of God. We need a change for life!
We are warned by John in I John 2:15-17 to not love the world or the things in the world. If we love this world the love of the Father is not in us. All that is in the world is the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life which is not of the Father. If we think we will see God then we must change our lives for a change for life. Many have separated themselves sensual and have not received the Spirit of God. There is life after this life that we must live today to see. What does it profit us to gain this whole world and lose our soul? What are we willing to exchange our soul for? We are overcharging our hearts with things that brings us to care for things that will not bring true peace, joy, or love.
A change for life mean we change our life to fit into God’s plan for man. It means we speak to our soul rather than our bodies of sin speak for us. What will we say to our soul in the end? Jesus said in Matthew 10:39 he that finds his life shall lose it and he that lose his life for Christ sake shall find it. In this earth no matter what we have we can never really be fulfilled without Christ!
