Poetry
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God
The Word became flesh, and dwelt no longer with God
He who believes in Me, believes in Him who sent Me
The Word says, he who sees Me, sees Him who sent Me
If you had known Me, you would have known My Father
For he who has seen Me, has also seen the Father
The Word says, no one has seen God at any time
Then what is the purpose of this God-given rhyme
The Word, Jesus Christ, created the Heavens, Earth, and Man
We are all part of His perfectly designed plan
The people who walked with Jesus, or simply walked away
They actually saw God, in His roundabout way
That’s right, seeing the Son, was seeing the Father
Each Disciple was more, than a casual observer
They knew Jesus, the Word, was the only Son of God
For their wisdom, courage, and knowledge, I applaud
So what did Jesus, the Word, look like, well I cannot say
But I look forward to meeting Him, face-to-face some day
What the common person saw and His Disciples as well
We will all know for certain, when in Heaven we dwell
