Marriage

To my husband:
I remember reading about babies, and how vital it is that they are picked up, held, and cuddled...and how they might literally die if they don't receive that nurturing affection.... and I think any relationship is exactly like that.

We keep our love always fresh, because every day we bring new things to it, or familiar things that have meaning to them...we bring love, first of all...for we would not survive without it...but it is not made up of large things, things you have to buy, or own.... it is the small things, the love in the looks we give each other, the strong hand holding mine, the arms always ready to wrap around me.... the words gentle and warm, speaking words of love.... the sheer joy of being together.

We bring caring...and thinking of the other, considering each other's feelings, the laughter and fun of just being silly together.... the small jokes we play...the dear lion and the blue bear.... nonsense to most, but the very stuff that glues together two hearts into one.

We share things...most importantly, the Lord, and His love.... for He is the model of what we should strive to become.... we share worshipping Him, studying His word at Bible study...and out of this sharing comes all the other kinds ...just sharing the same room while we work...or relax watching TV...or reading the paper.

All these things are what make our love so special, so unique, and so wonderful...a treasure to hold and keep close to my heart.... for the joy of it fills my life....
