One of the Greatest Joys in Life is to be Living Your God Ordained Dream

How many Christians are living a God-given dream? Let's define what this is: It is a dream or vision for one's life that is given by God, to be used in advancing God's kingdom and building individual lives in the Gospel and grace of the Lord Jesus Christ. This includes having a divine and confirmed directive by God over one's life. It is NOT a feeling! It is CONFIRMED through God's Word, prayer, other people, and by having spiritual giftedness in a particular area.

A God-given dream is recognizing your interests, spiritual gifts, godly desires, and having a sense of compulsion and urgency to use what God has given you, no matter how small. This is what happened to me as I entered the field of writing and speaking/teaching God's Word.

It may also include having an annointing over your life. An annointing is seeing God use your spiritual giftedness in specific ways. It is God at work, taking what you have given Him, as an instrument to bring salvation and spiritual growth in the lives of people, in ways that are humanly impossible to make happen.

Here is an example from my own life as a writer. I have been awed many times in how God has used my articles in someone's life half way around the world. For me to write something, then receive a comment from a person about a specific way it was used to minister or help them, is nothing short of a miracle of God.

Think about all the things that had to come together, over which I had no control. God put it in my mind and heart to post an article, at a particular time. Then a specific person went on the internet, found my article, read it, and was helped by it, at just the right time when that person needed it the most. That is so awesome!

A God-given dream is something bigger than yourself-so big that only God can bring it about. It is something that will go on making a difference in the lives of people after you and I pass away. The joy of living your dream is in knowing that you are being obedient in offering whatever you have to God and seeing him multiply it, all over the world. It has been a joy to see God use my gift of writing in the lives of people on 5 continents.

Thoughts for articles that I put on faithwriters come several ways, through my own personal Bible study, reading books, conversations with people, current events, and many times through thoughts simply "popping" into my head. Actually, I believe they are implanted by the Holy Spirit, in his infinite wisdom and grace, knowing who needs what, in the remotest part of the world, at a particular moment. The fact that God sometimes uses that article as a human instrument to help meet that need is astounding. There is no room for pride on my part. All I do is to write and post the article. God does all of the rest.

I am continually going through my writer's notebook and asking the Holy Spirit to impress upon my heart and mind, what articles are ready to go. There are 3 objectives I have in posting articles: 1) teach biblical truth, 2) draw people on to the website to hear the Gospel presentation, and 3) to help Christians in practical ways.

Thank you Jesus, for the gift of writing and speaking which you have given me, and for the annointing that you have placed over my life. I am so grateful and full of joy to be living my God-given dream.

Imagine what could happen if each individual Christian were living his or her dream given by God?
