It’s that time of year again……it’s Christmas. The decorations are up; the lights sparkle inside and out; and we hum along to the traditional carols as we shop for that special gift for all those on our list.

We find time to visit with family and friends to exchange gifts, catch up with each other’s busy lives and then it’s over again…..until next year.

So many times we get so caught up in this special season that we seem to forget the true meaning of Christmas…..which is to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior….Jesus Christ.

Was HE on our minds as we decorated? Was HE on our minds as we listened to the carols? Was HE on our Christmas gift list? If so…what did we give HIM?

God gave us the greatest gift of all when HE gave up HIS only son to be the sacrificial lamb for all our sins….not only at Christmas but all year long. HE gives us the very breath we breathe each and every day. And it’s Christ who gives us all good things and it’s HIM who gets us through the bad things.

What does HE want from us in return? Our hearts and our submission to HIS will for our lives!
God tells us in Jeremiah 29: 11 through 13…. “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”
