Our God is amazing! He is Eternal, yet He is within us! He is The Almighty, yet He has time to hear and answer our prayers. He is Perfectly Perfect, yet He is willing that imperfect man would have fellowship with Him! Our God is not only our Healer, but our Deliverer also!

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth for a place for mankind to dwell in and have fellowship with Him. God spoke and stars appeared in the heavens innumerable in number and unmatched in glory. The sun and moon was placed in the heavens to mark the passing of time. The lofty mountains were formed and seas appeared. Tree and grasses filled the landscape at the spoken command of God. Rivers and streams at once began to flow toward the oceans. God spoke again and the seas were populated. Again and the animals were formed. God was preparing a place for man to live and thrive. When everything was “Good” our God made man in His image. He knew that man would require someone to share his life with so He made Woman … the mother of all men to come. God’s created “man” was called Adam and his wife was called Eve. Thus we witness the amazing acts of God!

The LORD had planned and foresaw each step of creation before He spoke them. He also knew that man would fail and would require a substitute sacrifice for his sins. God provided Himself a sacrifice! Isn’t that amazing! Man had no way to redeem himself, but God in His mercy made a way for him to be restored to fellowship with Him. He set in motion the divine precepts of the Law and the ordinances of the Tabernacle.

God chose Him a people out of all the nations of the earth and began to lead them to a promised land. He made a covenant with them and they became His people. He delivered them from the hands of their enemies. He fed them in the wilderness with manna from heaven when they had no food to eat. He provided water in the desert for them to drink from a rock. He led them with a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night as the journeyed. He gave them wonderful planes to fight battle and win over the forces that denied them their promised land. He gave them prophets and priests and judges and kings to lead them. He delivered fenced cities and fortified places into their hands. These are a few of the many, many amazing acts of our God!

Then, the most amazing act of all! God robed Himself in flesh and lived among His people! A babe was born of a virgin in a manger in the town of Bethlehem … His name was called Jesus! He was to be the savior of His people and a redeemer of all mankind! His birth was foreseen by many prophets in the Old Testament. Over seven thousand prophecies were fulfilled in Jesus! He began His ministry with twelve common men … fishermen, tax collectors, zealots and one devil. His voice became the cry of God to draw all men unto Him! Jesus lived, walked and ate with the poor, the sick, the rich and the unclean. He ministered to all who would hear Him. His ministry lasted about three and one half years and turned Israel up side down! He healed the sick! He raised the dead! He fed the hungry! He walked on water! He enabled blind eyes to see! He opened deaf ears! He healed the lame! He cleansed the lepers! He ministered to every need that was requested of Him! The bible in several places said, “He healed them all.” His following grew and grew until the religious leaders began to fear that He would overthrow their system and draw all men to Him. Kings desired to hear His message! What an amazing Savior!

Plots and plans began to be made against Jesus. His life was in constant danger. Finally, Jesus was arrested and tried as a traitor. He was found guilty by false evidence and sentenced to death, but even the man that pronounced sentence upon Him found no fault in Him! Jesus was crucified for sins that were committed from the creation of mankind. His last words from the cross were,” Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” That is our truly amazing Savior!

Three days later the city of Jerusalem was astounded by rumors that the crucified Jesus had arose from the dead and appeared to several different disciples! The Priests and then Romans were frantic to stop these rumors, then some days later it was reported that Jesus had been observed by five hundred people as He ascended into the heavens! What an amazing Risen Savior!

All of these incredible and amazing things happened that we might know and believe on Jesus Christ our Savior! For He is truly beyond the expression of any words that our minds can conceive!

In the seventh chapter of the book of Luke verses 1-9 there is related event about the Roman centurion that sent word by the Jewish elders to Jesus informing Him that his servant was sick unto death. He requested that Jesus come and heal him. The elders related to Jesus that this centurion was worthy of this request for he loved their nation and had built a synagogue. Jesus went with them and as He approached the house the centurion sent friends to Him saying,” Lord, trouble not yourself: for I am not worthy that thou should enter under my roof: neither am I worthy to come unto you. But say in a word, and my servant shall be healed” In verse 8 the centurion explains that he is a man that is in authority, having soldiers under him. As he tells one to,” Go” he goes and to another,” Come” and he comes and to a servant,” Do this” and he does it.

Now, verse 9,”When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.” When Jesus, the Amazing, heard these things from a Roman centurion the bible says,” He marveled”! The creator of the universe marveled! The one that came to save all mankind from the penalty of death marveled! God incarnated in flesh marveled! Jesus then turned and spoke to those that were near and said,” I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel” Did you get it? This centurion’s simple expression of faith in Jesus’ ability to heal without one sign of doubt caused our Amazing, Awesome, Wonderful Savior to “marvel”! The word “marvel” in the Greek is interpreted “to be amazed”! A mere human caused the Almighty to be in amazed by his faith! Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever! If a Roman centurion’s faith two thousand years age amazed Him, don’t you think that the faith of one of His children in 2006 would do the same? Yes! Our Lord is Amazing! There is none like Him! We must remember that we, when we obey His precepts and accept His offer to save us and continue to express our faith in Him: WE AMAZE God!!!!!!

Let us thank the Lord for His many blessings that He pours upon us daily. Let us thank Him for life each day and the abundance of mercy that He extends toward us. Let us always endeavor to amaze our Lord with our faith in Him! He can do ALL THINGS!
