What Luck!
Some people use the term luck when things seem to turn out favorably for them. Wow, out of the blue, as a saying goes, an unexpected incident happened to me. I escaped the fender-bender accident that happened right behind me.
Luck, you might say. No! This was God’s hand of protection and mercy working on your behalf.
We know firsthand the sovereign deliverance from a very frightening situation. Recently my husband and I were involved in a stunning scene. Traveling through South Carolina on a summer vacation, we had planned on staying overnight in a mid-sized town. As we approached the town on a county road, we realized that two roads merged into one lane. We expected our lane to be the main road. Almost too late, my husband saw a sign that read Yield. He stepped on the brake, and, at the same time from the left, he caught a movement. Within two seconds a semitrailer roared past us. Whew! It definitely became a scary, dynamic, unwanted situation.
God’s hand of protection had to be between the Semi and our car. There is no way we could have escaped the carnage. He saved us from being crushed and pushed half-way into town. We missed that encounter by two seconds. God’s mercy for us that day included miraculous intervention, grace, and His watchful care; all worked toward our benefit. He also kept our lives from being disastrously changed.
We all hear stories of God’s miraculous interventions. Some consider it as just being lucky. If we belong to Christ, there is no such word as “luck” in our vocabulary. It’s all about His mercy and divine care for His own.
Have you noticed the intervening hand of God in your life? Thank Him at the beginning of every day for His protection. Thank Him for His mercies each day. You will need goodness watching over you. Don’t take for granted another hour or another minute. It may not belong to you.
Say these words often – Thank you, thank you Lord.

No such thing as luck, as God knows everything. Well said: Thanks for puting it into words. God Bless!
