It must be hard.
It must have always been hard.

Two homes, two families,
Fights over money and time

Two brothers,
One father,
Two mothers,
One that is truly yours,
One that you never chose.

Time passes
Everyone changes.

You’re grown now.
I am so proud.
The lessons that we all shared
You wear well.

Though you were never mine to raise
I was given the privilege to be part of your life

For that I am thankful.
I love you, I always have.

Part of the puzzle but not always fitting,
Part of the family but not always there,
Part of the fighting but never participating,
Part of the compassion and love that we share.
