According to Greek legend, the first woman, Pandora, was actually sent as a curse to Zues' men (See, you knew it was true, guys) and was given a present upon her marriage. The present was a box that she was told never to open. Needless to say her curiosity got the better of her (like eating the forbidden fruit) and she unleashed eight demons unto the world. The first seven being the seven deadly sins, and the last, which she managed to capture, was hope.

Today, much like mystical opening Pandora's box refers to getting into a situation over which one has very little control, so was Christianity's first forbidden sin in God's Garden of Eden. (Genesis 3:1-7)  You see, God not only gave all mankind a free will to chose good or evil, He also make a way of escape for all mankind.  (Genesis 3: 15). Here we see  the reference to " between your seed",  the spiritual descendants of Satan, (John 8:14) ( Ephesians 2:2) and "her seed", those who are in the family of God. He, an individual from among the woman's seed, namely, Christ, dwelt  a death blow to Satan's head at the cross, while Satan would bruise Christ's heel (cause Him to suffer).

Please Note: The first Bible mention  about a person's ability to choose, is found in (Genesis 2:16-17). In Chapter 3 of Genesis we have the well known story of Adam and Eve eating the forbidden fruit of the "tree of the knowledge of good and evil". In chapter 2 of Genesis, we read of the free will"." Adam was specifically instructed by God not to eat of this tree, that is, it was God's will that Adam not eat of this tree. However, Adam, along with his wife, chose to eat of this tree against God’s will. Furthermore, the argument cannot be used that the both of them only ate the fruit since they were deceived because we read in the first book of Timothy, ( 1 Timothy 2:14) that  Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression.  Adam chose not to obey God's will, and God allowed him to disobey even though it was against His will. Adam was created with the ability to freely choose for himself the directions he would take in his life even if those choices were contrary to God’s will.

As a result of this first garden sin, all mankind is now born in that same state of sin (Romans 5:12) and in need of a redeemer.(Romans 3:22-24) And only through Gods love of mankind, was this redemption made possible. (John 3:16-17)

So, how does one become redeemed from his inbred sin, in God's sight?

You see, mankind can never, come into a saving knowledge of God, or have personal fellowship with God through His Son Christ Jesus, by just being morally good, by paying your way, or relying on a family member or friend to get you there.(Ephesians 2:8-9) It's simply taking God's word, by your faith, and excepting His free grace.

And contrary to our modern day false belief, there is only one way to God,  Jesus Christ.(John 14:6) It just can't be any more basic than this.

When you ask Jesus to forgive your our sins and truly repent, then you become born-again and saved.(John 3:3-7)  Simply pray a sincere prayer of confession. The words  don't really matter, as long as your prayer comes from the heart, by praying  a genuine confession. (Romans 10:9-10) Upon salvation the Holy Spirit comes to dwell within us and it is by His power and strength we are able to leave behind the ways of the world and live more godly lives. (2 Cor 5:17).

Now that you have been born again, into the family of god, what next ? Start by:

  • Reading the Bible, God's Holy Word. ( 2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  • Spending time talking to God, in prayer. (Ephesians 6:18-19)

  • Getting  involved in a true full gospel ( 1Cor 15:1-4) local  Bible believing Church.(Hebrews 10:25)

  • Start telling others, family and friends, what God has done for you. (2 Timothy 2:24)

Amen !
