They prided themselves in being so sharply cutting edge, but it was upon that selfsame edge that they cut their very own throats. And now this amounts to no more than another weather-worn epitaph in the graveyard of empires. They rambled on reverently about the big bang but not the one that exploded from the lips of the Creator infusing the clay of humankind with its first fragrant breath. And so silent in the graveyard of empires and empirical theories sin can no longer get a rise out of them, only God can. And so mournful in the graceland of empires and losing their lives abundantly, reckoning themselves perpetually dead to sin but alive to God with whose Son they were and are both buried and raised, only God will get a rise out of them now…only God will.
