As Christians, our most important freedom is our freedom in Christ. That freedom begins with our knowledge of truth, as Jesus declared in John 8:32:

32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." NKJV

This means that without the knowledge of truth, there can be no freedom. Jesus explains further in John 14:6:

6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. NKJV

And then Jesus continues on His theme on truth and freedom by declaring in John 8:36:

36 Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. NKJV

What Jesus is declaring is that freedom is based on truth. Without truth, there is no freedom. The Apostle Paul describes further our freedom in Christ in Romans 3:24–26:

24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, 25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed, 26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus. NKJV

Here Paul is explaining that our freedom in Christ is a result of our redemption that Jesus obtained by His sacrifice on the cross, and our faith to accept His righteousness that He provides as a result of our faith in Him. Paul then encourages and admonishes us regarding our freedom in Christ in Galatians 5:1:

1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. NKJV

As Christians our freedom in Christ is based on our relationship with Christ and our freedom in Christ is based on truth. It’s important that we understand this in order to appreciate the freedom that Christ offers to us. It’s also important that we accept and stand fast on this declaration of freedom and not become tempted to entangle ourselves in beliefs that would bring us into bondage.

But truth as a basis of freedom extends beyond our freedom in Christ. It also applies to our freedoms to which we are entitled in our society. Although this concept of truth as a basis of freedom should be easy enough to understand, is seems hard for many to accept. Many actually don’t want truth to be the determining factor for freedom, as deceit enables them to manipulate others into thinking they are free when actually they are not.

Since the agenda of our government is “change” and the direction of that “change” is obviously toward Socialism, it’s clear that this will result in a significant loss of our freedoms, as that is an inherent characteristic of Socialism. It’s important to realize that in Socialistic governments one of the basic freedoms lost is the freedom to worship. The implementation of a “change” to take away our freedom to worship might mean that our Constitution is ignored in order to accomplish this, as to accomplish this legally would require an amendment to our Constitution. But recognizing the difficulty in accomplishing a Constitutional Amendment, and recognizing the recent successes of changes made through Executive Orders, a Constitutional Amendment may not be the means by which this would be implemented.

Christians should hope that our Senate and Congress would rise up and serve the will of the people by preventing the loss of our freedoms. But recent history has made it clear that there is little chance they would exercise the power they have to prevent such, as their recent actions have mostly been toward complicity with whatever the agenda is for whatever administration is in power. Therefore, the will of the people is being ignored in favor of the will and the agendas of the administration. And, of course, the will of the Christian community is being completely ignored, and actually being fought against.

But it would be in error to suggest that Christians are completely victims of this injustice. When Christians help to elect people who have demonstrated the spirit of anti-Christ, then they have chosen their own future persecution and have no justification for complaining later. They brought it on themselves. Since the freedom to worship should be the Christians’ highest priority, it’s hard to understand the rationale for Christians to ignore their need for this freedom by helping to elect leaders who have shown a bias against Christianity.

The most recent actions of our government have shown that America is now in rebellion against God and Biblical principles. Christians’ responsibility should be to respond to this according to Scripture. But our problem is that many “Christians” ignore God’s Word when it doesn’t line up with their politics. The goal of real Christians should be to put God’s Word at the center of their politics. But the truth is that while Conservative Christians put God’s Word at the center of their politics, Secular or Liberal Christians ignore God’s Word when it doesn’t line up with their politics. And when you call them on it, they try to twist the meaning of God’s Word to fit their politics. But when you ignore God’s Word, that’s rebellion. And I Samuel 15:23 is clear:

23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, And stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. NKJV

Of course, there are many other freedoms that are also subject to be lost by our conversion to Socialism. But first, for those who doubt that a conversion to Socialism is eminent, they need only examine the agendas of our government and evaluate how they compare to the tenets of Socialism. But if you want to learn, you must go where the knowledge is. There are many articles on Socialism available on the internet and exploring those and comparing them to what is being planned for America should clarify any lingering doubts. It’s important to also explore the advantages for Socialist leaders and compare them to the disadvantages for the citizens in a Socialistic Society. This should explain why our leaders are in favor of this conversion. It should also explain why the citizens should do everything in our power to prevent this conversion.

But the primary disadvantage for the citizens of a Socialistic Society is the drastic loss of freedoms. In preparation for this change, and as a first step, we are already being observed, or rather spied on, to determine our basic loyalties and tendencies to resist these changes. This is being used as a barometer for making the changes, while also enabling them to determine who will create the greatest resistance to the changes. Our use of social media, including the internet, Facebook, cell phones, tablets and other media access provide a clear picture of our actions, beliefs, loyalties and our tendencies that enables our government to prepare the details of their agendas. Monitoring where we are and what we are doing at all times will enable them to be successful in controlling the entire environment and exercising control over any resistance to the controls.

Americans are so accustomed to enjoying freedom in so many areas of our lives that many find it hard to believe that it’s actually possible to lose these freedoms. And sometimes the truth is so big that people don’t want to believe it. But we, especially Christians, need to take our heads out of the sand and seriously explore the facts for ourselves, instead of depending on the mainstream media for all of our information. We should consider that the mainstream media might be part of the plan to assist in the implementation of the agendas to take away our freedoms.

Unless the church is able to get free from the spirit of deceit, when they eventually begin to recognize the loss of freedoms, especially freedom to worship and live according to God’s Word, it will be too late. By then they will have lost the right to speak out about or read Scriptures aloud concerning some issues, such as homosexuality, without danger of arrest and prosecution for hate crimes. By then they also will have lost their power to rise up as a body to bring about any force of resistance.
