The beer commercial about this alleged person had been a source of annoyment for me until I realized what it’s really saying. It reflects an unnamed longing for a personal relationship with the One who actually is the most interesting and most intriguing person in this world or any world, by Whom all worlds were and are framed. While the commercial portrays him as attractive, mature and consummately sophisticated, even that reflects a yearning for the wisdom of the “Ancient of Days” Who is to be worshipped in the beauty of holiness. Then too he is characterized as supremely gifted international adventurer. What else would we expect from the Giver of all perfect gifts, Founder of all nations, and Ultimate Author of all adventure. Just to know God is to be involved in the adventure of a lifetime spilling over into Eternity.
