Faith * Hope * Love

There are three things that will endure…faith, hope, and love…and the greatest of these is Love. (1 Corinthians 13:13) NLT

                We’ve all heard the old cliché…. “The only sure thing in life is death and taxes!”

And it is so true. We are all going to die and while we are living in this world we do have to pay taxes. The sad part is we live our lives like that’s all that matters. Our life here on earth is just simply a time to come to know our Savior and become more like Him.

When it comes our appointed time to die, it isn’t going to matter where we lived, where we worked, what kind of house we lived in, or what sort of vehicle we drove, or what kind of clothes we wore. All that is going to matter in the end is IF WE ACCEPTED GOD’S GIFT OF ETERNAL SALVATION and WHAT WE DID FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN!

The scripture above tells us plainly that there are only three things
that will endure:

1.       Faith…..So what is Faith?

Faith is…     

 Forgetting about ourselves and focusing on Jesus

Acknowledging that our lives are not our own

Initiating a relationship with Jesus daily

Trusting in and to Christ with every aspect of our life

Hoping in HIM instead of ourselves

2.       Hope…..So what is Hope?

Hope is…       

Having endurance to persevere

Opening our hearts to God’s will for our lives

Persevering at all cost and never giving up        

Expecting good things from our Father in Heaven

3.       Love…..So what is Love?

Love is…         

Losing ourselves and turning to Christ

Overcoming hate and unforgiveness

Voluntarily submitting to God’s way instead of our own way

Experiencing a daily relationship with Christ

The Good News is that once we accept Christ as our own personal Savior, He fills us with His Holy Spirit and enables us to do all of the above! But we have to make a conscious effort to do so and let Him lead, guide and direct us on a daily basis to achieve this kind of relationship not only with Him but with others that He chooses to put in our lives also. So how do we do this? We have to feed that Holy Spirit daily. Otherwise we are yielding to the flesh instead of the spirit.

                There are so many ways God feeds our spirit. He teaches us through His WORD….the Bible; talks with us through PRAYER; and MUSIC can really lift your spirit when you allow it to do so! Also, God uses other people to minister to us and GIVES US EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED….WHEN WE NEED IT! All we have to do is ACCEPT HIM and YIELD to HIM DAILY! Then our life becomes NOT ABOUT OURSEVES BUT ABOUT HIM and this brings the FAITH….HOPE….and LOVE that only HE can give!
