Marriage
Included in the idea of a sabbath rest in our marriages and families is the necessity of finding and preserving ways of having fun and laughing together, simple as they may be. For example, we like to shoot baskets at the pool where they have a hoop set up over the water. For some reason we both get a kick out of it. Researchers have found that having fun together is actually more bonding even than going through difficulties and adversity together. How do we find fun? Leslyn my wife likes to say that we're not human doings so much as human BEINGS. So during a sabbath rest we try to just enjoy being and see where being leads us.
