Men
Get out your Bibles and turn to these passages.
Ephesians 5:22-30 talks about headship and submissiveness in marriage. Headship does not mean that the man should make all the decisions; nor does submissiveness mean that the woman must bow to the man. There is also no room for any type of abuse. Men are to love their wives as Christ loves the Church.
Colossians 3:19 makes it very clear that the man is never to become bitter toward his wife. Always have an attitude of forgiveness.
Hebrews 13:4 says that marriage must be held in honor, especially in the intimate times. The modern day application of this is to not commit adultery and to not look at pornography. When this is done the marriage has become defiled.
The last verse is I Peter 3:7-9. It tells men to live with their wives in an understanding way and grant them honor. This is so important, it says, that if this is not done one's prayer life will not be effective.
I speak for myself here, also. May we all enjoy a better marriage by following these four passages.
