Overcoming
“Young and determined to meet god.”
I chose to write about overcoming: “young and determined to meet god” because I want to share my testimony and my journey to get a closer relationship with god. Instead of a person who is 30 or 60 years old writing about their journey of being saved and going through trials, I as a young individual who only lived 20 years would like to tell the trials and journey of becoming saved and staying saved. Not only do I want to talk about my journey I want to encourage other young people to know there is nothing wrong with being saved. Nowadays people are showing kids that sinning is the way to go and there’s no consequences behind it. You have kids raising kids. You have young people killing young people. You have grown people trying to relive their teen years and forgetting the responsibility they have in front of them. You have kids growing up without their parents and you have kids growing up in the streets because they don’t have a seem of directions.
Into today’s society you have to prove your worth in order to fit in the norms of society. Kids are being brought up to have name brand clothes and having name brand items that only lead the parents broke and the kids senseless of what the true value of life is. Why is the cost of clothes more important than the amount of clothes you have. For example, your parent goes out and pay $500 for a pair of shoes but she doesn’t have her rent paid. How would she able to pay her rent. Now the parent is stuck trying to find a way to pay rent.
It hurts my heart to see kids killing each other, competing with each other and living a life that is landing them in jail or dead. Where is the parental guidance? Where is the fathers? Where is the spiritual people? Who is around helping these young people get off the streets? Why is right for a child to raise themselves base off what they know, when a parent supposed to be the one there helping them build a foundation for their life. As a young person it makes me concern that more kids are growing up by themselves without a parent. We need someone to step up and make this known that kids are losing their child hood because they don’t have father nor family figure in their life.
I am a witness of not having my father in my life. It actually is hard not having both parents in your life. Your mother can only teach you suppose but your father completes the puzzle. A mother teaches you the values of being a lady but a father teaches you the values of how to be treated by a man and they also show you how to be treated by a man. How would you feel if your dad wasn’t around? Would you know what you know? Or would you be lost and don’t know which way to turn? I had to walk around knowing I didn’t have a father in my life. I had to suffer the consequences of not knowing how I am supposed to be treated by a man. I had to watch my mother get beat and verbally abused by a man who didn’t know her worth as a woman. So when you are lost in this world and you don’t know your value you will settle for what you get. As my journey in high school I learned a lot about myself. As of July 29th, 2013 I was saved and have god in my life. I wrote this article because being saved at a young age is not being talked about in the world or in the communities. Instead sex, drugs, worldly attacks are being put on the news but no one has addressed why kids are killing, stealing, fighting and being adolescences. People automatically assume it’s because they don’t listen but no one has took the time to understand their story or even listen to their opinion.
Maybe if we take the time to hear the young people and understand why most of them act the way they do maybe when can change some lives and save some people from where they are at. We need to add God into this world again. We need to add Holiness back into this world. Its so most corruption happening and God is the only reason this world would ever be fix. As a young child of god I can witness that god is an awesome god and he offers eternal peace. The devil offer eternal sorrow. Which one would you chose: eternal peace or eternal sorrow. Who want to be burning for eternity when you can leave forever in peace? Why isn’t god a main factor no more in the world? Why is it good to allow the devil to destroy god’s people?
