Wisdom, Knowledge, and Understanding
I Chronicles 22:12-13 only the Lord God give thee wisdom and understanding; and give thee charge concerning Israel that thou mayest keep the Law of the Lord thy God. Then shall thou prosper if thou takest heed to fulfill the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel; be strong and of good courage, dread not, nor be dismayed.
I Corinthians 2:6-7 speak wisdom, the wisdom of God in a mystery even the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the world unto our glory.
God only possess wisdom needed for us to maneuver through this journey we are on. We are in transition from earth to glory and we need directions. There is a way that seem right to us but our way is the way of destruction. Wisdom is us knowing what to do, how to do it, when to do it, who to do it with, and understanding why we should do it. If man was wise they would give consideration not just to today and tomorrow but for to the latter end of life.
Solomon, the son of David promised to come by God was full of wisdom God put in his heart; all people of the earth sought his presence to hear the wisdom he had. Great men are not always wise and neither does the aged man understand judgment. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and to understand means we obtained some knowledge to keep the Commandments. A wise man will hear and increase learning, a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsel and knowledge comes through fearing God. To fear God is to hear and incline our heart to the wisdom given and applying our heart to it means we understand.
Wisdom brings stability to our lives and strength to hold on to our salvation. The more we learn of God in his Word and submit to doing and keeping it the more we fall in love with ourselves and God. We can love one another differently as we understand. Proverbs 19:8 he that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul; he that keepeth understanding; shall find good. Hear counsel and receive instruction that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
Wisdom brings with it truth. Jesus said in John 8:32 ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free. Jesus spoke with wisdom and the Spirit so that they which were in the crowd were not able to resist hearing him. Even those that thought they were perfect; for the truth too penetrate the psyche of their hearts that had to be pure. The Truth is a Spirit we must possess and the Spirit of Truth, the Holy Ghost; God’s Holy Spirit doesn’t dwell in a lying temple. The Spirit will guide us into all truth just as a lying spirit leads to more lies. The wisdom of the Spirit of Truth destroys the lies of the Devil, proves all things, holds fast to that which is good, and knows the Holy Scriptures that they will make us wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. We must be endued with knowledge daily; we can’t stop learning of God. Be ready always to give an answer to every man concerning our reason of the hope that is within us.
We must see God as He is; we can’t do it without the Word, His Word; for through his Word, Christ and His Spirit we live. We must know the spirit of a thing that we know the spirit of error. We look for the right things, teach the right way but we never consider to teach about the wrong too. There is knowledge of good and evil; both are important to know. Knowledge is power; what we don’t know can indeed and do hurt us. It also helps us in discernment to reject some things. When we receive God’s wisdom we will increase in knowledge.
Gaining knowledge helps our understanding of many things. Men understand more than a child does because they are more learned or should be. It is expected to be so anyway unless there is some kind of mental retardation which would be very unfruitful. When wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of who God is and who we are, we come together in one mind with his Word and Spirit He can be glorified in us and through us. We become Word people unified in one body with Christ. We are a people that hear and obey the Word and this makes God glorified in us. How pleasant it is to know that God is always there in our hearts and soul. How good it is to be joined together with the dynamic gifts that bring the gift of eternal life.
The Father-God, Wisdom
The Son-Word, Knowledge
The Holy Ghost-God’s Spirit, Understanding
It’s just God, take our natural sense to taste, touch, feel, see, and hear and submit it to God and we can love Him and be saved. With these dynamics we can be perfect and be of good comfort, be of one mind and live in peace endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Because of the peace they give our joy is fulfilled. We walk by the Word and do not cause division in the body. We have learned that we are the people called, anointed and appointed by God to be an example of Christ; witnesses to men, those that believe not. Our lives are an open book, be of the same mind as was Christ; (Philippians 2:5). We must have compassion one of another, love as brothers and sisters, be pitiful and courteous.
We must use what God has given us effectively not in or with pride where are arrogantly persecute one another. We don’t want to glory in our self where we hang a chain around our neck that will choke us to death. Through God’s wisdom, knowledge and understanding he prepare us for his kingdom. In I Peter 1:2-3 Peter was speaking to the Christians at Asia Minor to stimulate them to a joyful hope; elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ is grace and peace multiplied to us and we are again part of a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.
Wisdom, knowledge and understanding humble us in the sight of the Lord and He lifts us up. We find our sight changes, the way we see things is after a God sort, how we speak changes and what we will follow is questionable. We are mindful of life’s uncertainty and therefore commit all to God. It puts away from us the works of darkness. We can walk honestly before the Lord.
Put on the Lord Jesus Christ who has shown us that we can live Godly in this present world and the one to come. He will teach us that we don’t have to make provision for the flesh to no longer fulfill the lusts therein. He is the Good Shepherd; know Him!
What shall a man give in exchange for his soul? We can exchange our soul for a price, but what is the cost? There is only one step to make; step toward wisdom, knowledge and understanding that surpass all we can think or ask because it comes from God. Take that step toward Jesus today. He will command blessings upon us now and forever more.
We don’t want to be as those that sleep without Christ, we can experience life and that more abundantly if we choose the Light; Jesus Christ. Jesus is that light that came and wisdom excelled, He is that everlasting light that will take us to the place where we too will bring glory to God.
He is the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the glorified Christ full of the wisdom of God, ready to impart knowledge and make us understand that for God we live and for God we die. We must continually come and get our loins girt about with truth that our light can shine as a burning light that others will see and desire to have that same Jesus.
Forsake evil and the wrath to come, believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and He will deliver us.
