Is there such a thing as a perfect man, or woman?

How can that be at all possible in a world full of extremely conflicting beliefs and ideals?

James 5:16 tells us, 'The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much'. One of the definitions of the word righteous is the word virtuous, acting in an upright, moral way.

We are told of a few virtues as we grow up, such as patience, compassion, honesty and mercy. However the list of virtues is actually quite long, over fifty in all. There are also the virtues of courageousness, assertiveness, trustworthiness and confidence, to name a few.

In Luke 8:46, he says of Christ "And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all."

I venture to say, that in our lifetime we have never witnessed the fullness of all the virtues in anyone. However, that is what drew people to Jesus. He was absolute virtue personified and if you were to actually meet him on the road somewhere, you would know that you were in the company of a "perfect gentleman".

Imagine a place where everyone lives forever in peace and harmony, Heaven perhaps? How can they live in such peace and harmony, when the way of life on earth is so extremely conflicting?

The way of life... I'll say that again, the way of life, is the key.

A way of life in a social network of any description, is one in which the members of that social network agree. For example, Italians agree that they should have a sleep in the middle of the day.

Therefore, the way of life in Heaven, is one in which everyone is agreed. They have all agreed to follow the example of the perfect gentle man, the lamb of God, in order for that to rub off on them, so we can all become perfect gentlemen and woman by adopting and exercising all the virtues in our life.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6
