Psalm 142(read this before reading on)

One of the toughest emotions to deal with is the feeling of being abandoned. It could come from friends, family, strangers, or even yourself. In Psalm 142 David felt abandoned and like no one cared for him, how can this be? David was a king, He had slain Goliath, He was anointed by God yet he felt abandoned. God uses this emotion to bring us closer to him; he brings us to a place where we rely on him for every need. When you first accept Christ as your Savior Coming from the world with no Church background a majority of the time God separates you from the old crowd. Friends tend to stop talking to you, you stop talking to friends sometimes your not even sure why the relationships were cut off. We go through this breaking process I think this is best described as the Death God brings you through. We die with Christ and as he rose from the dead we to rise as a new creature.
Tori was four years old when her dad left her and her mom, her mom became a alcoholic and was constantly getting drunk to deal with her emotions of being abandoned. Tori grew up with her mom never paying attention to her no matter how hard she tried to bond with her mom it would not work. When tori was fourteen her mom sent her away to live with a relative someone who could better take care of her. Tori was left feeling Abandoned not only by her father, but her mother as well. She began looking for acceptance from everyone she’d meet, having sex with any guy who liked her, drinking and taking drugs to fit in with the crowd. When Tori was sixteen she began to feel sick and she couldn’t explain why she went to the doctor and found out she was pregnant. Tori only knew abandonment and she was planning to have an abortion. Constantly the thought of having a child plagued her mind “How could be people like me if I had a kid” She’d think. She found herself waiting patiently in the clinic, her mind was blank and her heart was cold. A curious thing happened to Tori at this time a man walked into the clinic looked at her and walked over to where she was sitting. The man handed her a Gospel Tract titled “Do You Feel Abandoned?” Tori stared at this tract bewildered after a moment she looked up to see if the man was there but he was gone. She read through the little pamphlet and her heart sank and her tears would not stop flowing. After awhile the Doctor came out and asked Tori if she was ready to proceed. Tori got up feeling a new power of Hope, and Strength. She looked at the Doctor and said, “I will not abandon my child” and she walked out. As Tori began to drive she noticed a church and sitting on the stairs of the church was the man who handed her the Gospel Tract. She parked and ran to the man, She had so many questions. He opened his Bible and began to explain what God had done for the Abandoned how Christ came into the world so that we may come into a relationship with him. Tori gave her life to Christ that day, she was devoted to get her life together and prepare for the arrival of her child. One year later Tori is the mother of a beautiful baby girl, she left all of her old friends, and even moved back in with her mom. Tori shared everything God has done in her life and was able to free her mom from the clutches of alcoholism. Tori and her mother now host weekly women Bible Studies and Recovery programs. Tori is not married, nor is she looking to date however she knows God is working in her life and will bring the right guy along when the time is right.

You see Tori had felt abandoned her entire life and it took a long time for her to realize that her Father in heaven was always there for her.
Hebrews 13:5 I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Many of you reading this are struggling with feeling abandoned or loneliness; it’s something I to struggle with. We are to constantly be working on our relationship with God, praying, reading, seeking after him. God says in Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek me and you will find me when you seek me with all of your heart. Notice God doesn’t say, Hey come find me only when your feeling down, or give me a call when you need something. God is telling us seek me with all of your heart and there you will find me. When we rely on God for everything he is faithful to provide. If your feeling abandoned or lonely, cry out to God seek him, something amazing will happen. You’ll begin to notice the joy he brings you, then he will bring new friends into your lives strong people to be in fellowship with. You will find that the feeling of Abandonment will pass away and you will no longer feel lonely. Now we will phase the emotions and it will be a battle but we will always know we can turn to God in these moments for he is our strength.
