She Never

She
never
turned the light on
in her house
so she always
stumbled in
the dark.

She
never prayed
with faith
always in doubt
like a beggar
in despair
not knowing for sure
if she was heard.

She never
danced to the
song and rhythm
that were hers
for her mirror
reflected a
wallflower.

She never
dared to dream
delightful things
for conformity
and making sure others
were always happy
with her
kept her from
sparkling.

She was just
a typical, average
woman with
supernatural power
that was never
tapped into.

She never
grew up
but don't look
down on her
for she is
the overwhelming majority
who back down
from the challenge
for love must
sink in deep
before
risk is embraced.

Perhaps one day
she will
face
her regrets
disappointments
heartaches
head on
before the Lord
in the
Secret Place
of the Most High
and receive the
kiss of life.

Because Love
never gives up
is always willing
to show up
when prayer
is real and
intense
