You are of the world the everlasting light,
As a city sits on a hill looking so bright;
Neither do men light a candle just to cover,
It will go out very soon you will discover;
Rather on a candlestick to light your home,
Able to see everything to be free to roam;
Let your light shine before man and lady,
See your goodness as God in His mercy;
Rewards you with the blessings given,
To glorify Him on His throne in Heaven.
No longer neutral in living for the Lord,
For all the facts that can not be ignored;
His Word will either push them far away,
Or the importance as the Word does say;
It's up to us for a light to brightly shine,
Proclaiming to others about the divine;
Living our own lives showing God's grace,
A radiant glow that reflects Jesus' face;
Shine on brightly with a light to proclaim,
The truth of His Word and glorify His name.
