After All

After all I’ve been, after all my sin, after all He’s done for me
How can I push Him away and tell His Spirit, no
How can I resist the love I’ve come to know
How can everything be wrong when He’s come to make it right
Why can I not just obey Him, after all

It seems as if there’s somethin’ that needs changin’
It’s awfully hard to say it might be me
I tend to think my world needs rearrangin’
Then His Truth reveals the sin I just don’t wanna see

And just about the time I think I’ve got it down
And finally know the road I am to take
His Spirit finds a weakness I’ve been hidin’
And I must repent, cause it is all for Jesus’ sake

After all I’ve been, after all my sin, after all He’s done for me
How can I push Him away and tell His spirit, no
How can I resist the love I’ve come to know
How can everything be wrong when He’s come to make it right
Why can I not just obey Him, after all

His power leaves me speechless as He comforts me
My melted heart begins to overflow
He holds me close, forgiving, cause I’ve run to Him
No longer can I tell my precious Jesus, no

After all I’ve been, after all my sin, after all He’s done for me
I can’t turn Him away, I’m gonna tell my Savior, yes
In the lessons I’ve learned, I’ve been greatly blessed
And when everything went wrong, Jesus came and made it right
I can surely now obey Him, after all

Have you accepted Jesus in your own heart
Do you believe He paid the price for you
Your heart will hurt until you come to know him
And His cleansing power will make you all brand-new

After all you’ve been, after all your sin, after all He’s done for you
How can you turn Him away and tell His spirit, no
How can you resist the Love you ache to know
And when everything’s gone wrong just let Jesus make it right
You can surely now believe him, after all
