I have much for which to be thankful, just being a Christian. With all of the deception, false teachings, cults, and cultural influences today, I have a solid source of truth. This provides me with a standard by which to guage all other beliefs and human philosophies, and makes it possible to sort out truth from error.
My source of belief is the most reliable and credible manuscript ever penned, the divinely-inspired Holy Bible. When taken side-by-side with other religious books or "sources of truth" and compared, concerning the elements that give evidence of divine inspiration, it would win head and shoulders above all others.
I am glad I am a Christian because I know the answers to four basic questions of life: "Who am I?", "Where did I come from?", "What is the purpose of my life?", and "What happens when I pass from this earthy life?" I know that I am a unique creation of God and did not come from some ape. I am here to glorify my creator and to fulfill my God-given destiny. When I leave this planet I will enjoy an eternity in the literal, conscious, presence of God for all eternity, without end.
I am glad that I am a Christian because I have a hope, both in this life and the next.
I am glad that I am a Christian because I don't have to earn my salvation by working for it, or by following religious rituals or rules; it is by grace through faith in Jesus' promises. There would be no other way for me to make it. God's grace continues not because of me, but in spite of me.
I am glad that I am a Christian because I know what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, God in human flesh, which is totally different and far above going to church or simply being religious.
I am glad that I am a Christian because I have a peace that passes human understanding, and have the joy of seeing God at work in the relationships and circumstances of life.
I am glad that I am a Christian because I am not under the bondage of evil, sin, sickness, Satan, or addictions.
Those of you reading this, who may not be Christians, lay church or religion aside. You can't truly understand any of what I have talked about until you decide to accept Jesus into your life. Click on the button below to hear the Gospel message.
