“For I am yearning to see you, that I may impart and share with you some spiritual gift to strengthen and establish you; That is, that we may be mutually strengthened and encouraged and comforted by each other’s faith, both yours and mine.” Romans 1:11-12 (AMP)

In the middle of an important meeting, Bob received a frantic call from his wife who as at the hospital. His wife was in the Intensive Care Unit with her mother when her mother unexpectedly passed away. Immediately Bob left work and rushed to the hospital.

Steve—the hospital chaplain and great friend from church—met Bob and Marcia right away. “I know you both prayed for her. I prayed, too. All of us can find great comfort in the fact that your mother was a believer in Christ. Sometimes, God chooses to bring his children home. Let me read from Psalms: Precious (important and no light matter) in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints (His loving ones). Psalm 116:15 (AMP). Your mother was precious.”

“It’s just so hard to believe she’s gone.”

“Yes, it is... Let’s pray. Father, I thank You for the faithfulness of my friends; I pray for Your peace that passes all understanding to cover them and their family and friends during this time. We are encouraged because we know You are in control. Bless them today, in Jesus’ name. Amen.”

A deeply personal and emotional subject handled with due sensitivity and tact. In times like these we need to follow the biblical advice, "Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." (1 Peter 5:7) God really does. Thanks for this Tim.
