After the baby eaglets hatch they must be fed. It’s the parent’s job to catch prey, kill it and bring it back to the nest. The father will bring the carcass back and toss it to the eaglets.

The eaglets are hungry and try unsuccessfully to feed on the carcass. But since they are inexperienced, they don’t know how to use their talons or their beaks to tear off pieces of flesh. That’s where the mother steps in; she grasps the carcass, tears off pieces of flesh and feeds it to the eaglets. If she doesn’t do this for them, even with the food present, the eaglets will starve to death.

Each time the mother eagle tears off a piece of flesh, she is showing the eaglets by example how to do this for themselves. After watching the mother do this day after day, the eaglets will begin to try doing this for themselves. Eventually they are able to handle the carcass by themselves.

It is the same with newborn Christians.

I have torn off the head of the enemy and I have left his body for you to deal with. At first you will not be able to handle the enemy alone. You will have to depend on the Holy Spirit and more mature Christians to teach you how to handle the enemy. As you study the Word and watch the example of mature Christians you will learn to handle the enemy and he will lose his hold on you.

Do not get discouraged. Do not give up. I know that it is hard to deal with the enemy; but remember; I have done the hard part already. His head has been removed. He has no real power. My army stands behind you. Trust in me and you will see the enemy totally defeated in your life. Just stay in my Word. Tear off pieces of it several times daily. Meditate on it. Break it down into smaller pieces and digest it several times a day. As you do this you will be strengthened, and encouraged. Continue to do this each day and you will learn who you are in Me. You will learn how to handle the enemy and he will lose his hold on you.

Do not give up. Be strong in me. I have you in the palm of my hand. Nothing can get to you unless I allow it. When the enemy comes at you remember that I am there with you. Remember “greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4)
