2 Timothy 4:1 I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom: 2 Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; 4 and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables.

We live in a day and time where the Word of God is not taken seriously any longer. Sadly it is treated as something to cut and paste into situations in life when we see fit. Rarely, if ever, is any of God's Word used in context and in the meaning as it was intended when the Lord inspired it to be written. We have all kinds of false doctrines that have arisen out of misquoted verses that are being used for selfish purposes. A child of God will never intentionally use any Scripture for evil or for selfish purposes. Only Satan or one who is bound by him will do such a thing (Matthew 4). We are told in 1 John 4:1-5 not to believe every spirit but we are to test the spirits to see if they are from the Lord and that testing comes through discernment and through rightly dividing the Word of God. Sadly, many label this as "judgment" and will fall to anything that comes claiming the name of Christ while foolishly believing anything that looks good, is good. And that is why so many fall from the faith. That is why so many churches and Christians are so weak and lacking in effective, Christ centered ministry that changes lives through soundly preached and rightly divided Word. It's time for God's people to decide to sink or swim. It's past time for all of us who are true believers to grow a back bone and as I have said before, man up. Shivering in the corners like cowards will not gain anything. It's time for the church to stand boldly in the name of Christ and preach His Word while making disciples in His name. Anything less than that is completely unacceptable. I encourage you to stand for Him no matter what life throws at you.
